چکیده
rapid half-life of DXL (about 4min) causing no accumulation of the drug in the central compartment after repeated administration. So these differences in DXL plasma concentrations looked accidental. The observed transient increase of DXL plasma concentrations during HD is probably due to altered protein binding of the drug. To evaluate DXL toxicity, blood-count controls were taken in periodic intervals. Grade 2 leucoand thrombocytopaenia (National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria, NCI–CTC) were detected 10–20 days after the second cycle of chemotherapy (data not shown). Restaging at day 42 revealed further regression of the central tumour and a decreased bronchial wall thickness. The mediastinal lymph nodes remained stable and a restaging mediastinoscopy showed necrosis but also residual tumour cells. Afterwards, sequential radiotherapy of the mediastinum and the primary completed the treatment. In conclusion, a carboplatin/DXL combination might be a suitable regimen for NSCLC patients undergoing HD.

Fetuin-A and Ghrelin Levels in Children with End Stage Renal Disease and the Effect of a Single Hemodialysis Session on Them
BACKGROUND Fetuin-A and ghrelin have been implicated in cardiovascular diseases and mortality among end stage renal disease patients. The exact mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. There is robust data supporting an association between ghrelin and various cardiovascular conditions, and some common processes such as inflammation, oxidative stress, and endoplasmic reticulum stress have been...
متن کاملEffect of Vigorous Aerobic Exercise on Serum Levels of SIRT1, FGF21 and Fetuin A in Women with Type II Diabetes
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Sirtuin (SIRT), Fibroblast Growth Factor21 (FGF21) and Fetuin A are proteins that cause a wide range of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). On the other hand, regular physical activity is known to play a key role in prevention and management of T2DM. Thus, this study investigated the effect ...
متن کاملFactors associated with serum fetuin-A concentrations after long-term use of different phosphate binders in hemodialysis patients
BACKGROUND Fetuin-A is known as a circulating inhibitor of vascular calcification. Factors associated with serum fetuin-A concentrations after long-term use of different phosphate binders in hemodialysis patients is still uncertain. METHODS In the post-hoc study, we analyzed serum fetuin-A and biochemical factors (Ca, P, i-PTH, hsCRP, TG, LDL-C) in 50 hemodialysis patients, who completed a 48...
متن کاملSerological cardiovascular and mortality risk predictors in dialysis patients receiving sevelamer: a prospective study.
BACKGROUND Cardiovascular morbidity and mortality are massively increased in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Sevelamer hydrochloride has been shown to attenuate cardiovascular calcifications in CKD and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. We assessed how sevelamer hydrochloride influences the evolution of serum fetuin-A and other serological factors predicting cardiovascular out...
متن کاملRelationship between serum levels of fetuin-A with apo-A1, apo-B100, body composition and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes
Background :Some results exist on fetuin-A as marker for vascular disease in type 2diabetes. We examined the relationship between serum fetuin-A with some factors, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods : From October 2012 to June 2013, a total of 131 T2DM patients were recruited and evaluated for various parameters including HOMA-IR, Apo-A1, Apo-B100, body fat percentage...
